The UwTornooi app

With the UwTornooi mobile app, participants and supporters follow a tournament on their smartphone, with push notifications for their team.

Following a team

In the app you pick a tournament and follow one or more teams. No account is needed.

If the tournament has more than one category, every pool and every match shows the category with its coloured dot — including in the Knockout tab and in the match list of a referee or organiser.

Which notifications do you get?

• Match starting soon: shortly before kick-off, with the time and the field. The organiser sets how many minutes in advance the reminder is sent (0 = no reminder).
• Schedule published: as soon as the match schedule is published.
• Change: if the organiser adjusts the time or field of a match and notifies the teams involved.
• Result: as soon as the score of one of your team's matches is entered — by the organiser in the management screen, by the referee via their score link, or via the app.

If the organiser updates the score during the match, you get a notification for every new score. If the same score is simply saved again, it stays at that one notification; a real correction (for example a 3-1 that becomes 3-2) does send a new notification, so you always see the correct result.

Stopping notifications

Unfollow the team in the app, or turn off notifications there entirely. You decide per device what you receive.

As an organiser: setting up notifications

Go to the Instellingen (settings) tab of your tournament. At the bottom you will find the Push notifications for the UwTornooi app block with two settings:

• Notification on change: with this switch off you are in planning mode and moving a match sends nothing. Switched on, the schedule collects your moves and you decide yourself, at the top of the schedule page, when to notify the teams involved.
• Reminder before kick-off: the number of minutes before kick-off that the followers of both teams get a "match starting soon" notification. 0 = no reminder, 120 minutes at most.

The result notification has no separate setting: it goes out automatically as soon as a score is entered. Anyone who no longer wants to receive them turns notifications off in the app.

Also for organisers and referees

• As an organiser you can log in with your UwTornooi account and follow your tournament.
• Referees can enter the scores of their assigned matches via the app.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to follow a team in the app?

No. You pick a tournament in the app and follow one or more teams, without an account. Only organisers and referees log in — the former to follow their tournament, the latter to enter scores for the matches assigned to them.

How far in advance am I told a match is about to start?

The organiser decides. Under Settings > Push notifications the Reminder before kick-off field sets the number of minutes, from 0 (no reminder) up to 120 minutes.

Do I get a notification on every score change?

You get one for every new score. If the same score is simply saved again, there is no second notification. A genuine correction — a 3-1 that becomes 3-2, for instance — does trigger a new one, so you always have the right result.

How do I stop the notifications?

Unfollow the team in the app, or switch notifications off entirely. This is set per device, so you decide what you receive on which phone.
