Deleting a tournament

Want to clear out a tournament? Open it and go to Settings. At the bottom of that page you will find the red Delete tournament zone. This button is only visible to the organiser (the owner of the tournament).

What happens?

• The tournament immediately disappears from your overview on the dashboard.
• The public live page and the registration form are no longer reachable.
• All data — teams, matches, results, registrations and attachments — is deleted along with it.

Note: this cannot be undone. So only delete a tournament when you are sure.

Tip

Do you just want to close a tournament rather than delete it? That is not necessary: once the end date has passed, the tournament automatically gets the status Finished and the live page with all results simply stays online.

Frequently asked questions

Can I recover a deleted tournament?

No. Deleting cannot be undone: teams, matches, results, registrations and attachments go with it, and the live page and registration form become unreachable straight away. So only do it if you are certain.

Do I have to delete a tournament once it is over?

No, and usually that is not what you want. Once the end date has passed the tournament automatically gets the Finished status and the live page with all results simply stays online — handy if participants want to look back later at how it went.

Who may delete a tournament?

Only the organiser, that is the owner of the tournament. Co-managers do not see the red zone at the bottom of the Settings tab.
