Copying a tournament

Do you run the same tournament every year? Then there is no need to start from scratch each time. Go to your Dashboard with the overview of your tournaments. Every tournament card has a copy button () in the top right. Click it to make a copy.

What do you want to include?

In the dialog you decide which parts are copied along:

  • Settings — scoring, extra standings, player statistics, the registration form, your branding and co-administrators.
  • Teams — all teams and their players.
  • Fields — your pitches/fields.
  • Referees — all referees.
  • Schedule — categories, groups, brackets and matches (the structure, without results). Ticked by default.
  • Results — scores, statistics and standings. Unticked by default, so you start with a clean slate.

You give the copy a new name and, if you like, new dates right away. If you leave the dates empty, the copy keeps the dates of the original.

Good to know

  • The copy always starts as a draft and is editable straight away — even if the original's schedule was locked.
  • The sponsor settings fall back to the default; they are never copied along.
  • If you pick a schedule but no teams, the matches are copied without participants. You then add the teams yourself later.

After copying, you land on the new tournament right away, ready to adjust.

Frequently asked questions

Are last year's results copied as well?

Not by default. Results — scores, statistics and standings — are deliberately left unticked so you start with a clean slate. The Schedule (categories, groups, brackets and matches, without results) is ticked by default.

Does the copy take over the dates of the original?

Only if you leave them empty. If you enter new dates in the copy dialog, the copy gets those. You also give it a new name there.

Is my custom styling kept in the copy?

Yes, if you tick Settings. That covers the scoring, extra standings, player statistics, the registration form, your styling and the co-managers. One exception: sponsor settings are never copied and fall back to the defaults.

What if I want the schedule but not the teams?

That works. The matches are then copied without participants and you fill in the teams later. The copy always starts as a draft and is editable straight away — even if the original's schedule was locked.
