After the group phase you can generate a knockout phase.
Want the final stage gone again? On that same Indeling (layout) tab, click 🗑 Delete knockout. That only removes the knockout of the selected category; its pools and the other categories stay put.
Everything you build or regenerate for the final stage — 🏆 Add knockout, ↻ (Regenerate from the pools), the ↻ on a single bracket, + Extra bracket, + Consolation bracket and the placement matches — creates the matches and schedules them right away, following on from whatever is already planned. This all happens on the Layout tab; a message tells you each time that the matches are in the schedule. Want to move them as a block afterwards? Tick the knockout in the generate dialog on the Schedule tab — see Scheduling matches.
So you no longer have to drag anything to get them onto the calendar. Want them somewhere else? Go to the Schedule tab and move the card, or change the time and field on the card itself.
If you have not created any fields yet, nothing can be scheduled: the matches then wait in the Not assigned strip until a field exists. The Schedule tab warns you about that.
On the Indeling (layout) tab, below every first-round match each team has a dropdown, e.g. 🅷 1st Pool A and 🅐 4th Pool D. Open it and pick directly which pool position plays there. The menu is grouped per pool and lists every position in that pool; with more than one pool, best 3rd is listed at the bottom as well. That way you put the winner of Pool A against the runner-up of Pool D in one go — including a position from a different pool than the system proposed.
Every pool position can only play in one place: the same team twice in the final stage would make the bracket unplayable. A combination that is already used elsewhere is therefore greyed out in the menu, with the bracket name after it (e.g. 2nd Pool B — Knock-out B).
If you pick a taken combination anyway, the two slots swap: the other slot gets the position that was here. A dialog first asks you to confirm and states exactly what ends up where. That way you can also rearrange a bracket in which every position is already in use — e.g. to put the 3rd of Pool A against the 3rd of Pool B instead of against the 6th in a consolation bracket. The swap works across brackets too: if the requested position sits in another bracket, your previous position moves there. The same team in two matches at once remains impossible.
The match label changes everywhere (schedule, live, TV), and if the pool has already finished, the right team appears immediately.
Besides the main bracket you can add extra brackets, e.g. for the 3rd and 4th of each pool. On the Indeling (layout) tab, click + Extra bracket and choose which pool positions feed the bracket (e.g. 3rd to 4th). The extra bracket gets its own card and a letter in the round labels (e.g. Semi-final B), so you can tell the brackets apart in the schedule, live and on TV. Every extra bracket has its own ↻ button to regenerate just that bracket.
Want teams that lose in the first round of a bracket to keep playing for the remaining places (e.g. places 5 to 8)? Click + Consolation bracket on the bracket card. First-round losers advance automatically once their match has been played; matches with a bye do not count. If you regenerate the main bracket, the consolation bracket is rebuilt automatically.
By default the cards are called Knock-out, Consolation bracket, Knock-out C, … Want a name that says more? Every bracket card on the Indeling (layout) tab has a ✎ next to the bin. Click it and type your own name, e.g. Final stage U6, B tournament or Town cup.
That name replaces the default one on the bracket card and also appears as the heading above the bracket on the bracket board — both in the bracket preview below and on the live page — even when there is only one bracket. The name is kept when you regenerate the bracket with ↻ or with 🏆 Add knockout.
The letters in the round labels (e.g. Semi-final B) belong to the bracket itself and do not change: they keep telling the brackets apart in the schedule, when entering results and on the referee page.
Rounds are named automatically: Final, Semi-final, Quarter-final, Round of 16, … Want something else — e.g. Preliminary round, Grand final or Play-off? In the Bracket preview at the bottom of the Indeling (layout) tab, click the round header (e.g. QUARTER-FINAL ✎) and type your own name. Leave the field empty and the automatic name returns.
A custom round name applies to that round of that bracket and carries through everywhere: in the bracket board, on the live page, in the schedule, when entering results, on the referee page, in the app and in the PDF export. The name is tied to the round number, so it stays correct if matches are added to or removed from that round. The third-place match (🥉) can be renamed the same way.
If the number of knockout teams is not a clean power of 2 (4, 8, 16…), the best-ranked teams get a bye in the first round.
If you work with multiple categories, each category gets its own bracket — on the live page (with the category name as heading), in the PDF export and in the app. Rounds are named automatically: Final, Semi-final, Quarter-final, Round of 16…
When entering results and on the referee page you also see the round label for every knockout match, and in the first round the origin of the teams (e.g. 1st Pool A – 2nd Pool D).
Every match in a bracket has a name. By default that is its number within the bracket: W1, W2, … The labels of the later rounds refer to that name, e.g. Winnaar W1 (winner of W1). On the Indeling (layout) tab the name appears as a tag in front of every match on the bracket card, and on the Schema (schedule) tab as a badge on the card — so you can see at once which match is meant.
Click the tag (✎) to give the match your own name, e.g. Left quarter-final or Opening match. The labels of the follow-up matches change along with it right away — in the schedule, on the live page, on TV, in the app and in the PDF. Leave the field empty to bring back the automatic number.
Sometimes you only need part of a bracket: four cross matches to settle the placings, without the winners playing on afterwards. On the Layout tab, click the 🗑 on the right of the match row.
A match further along the bracket waits for the winner of an earlier one (Winner W5), so it cannot stay behind with a slot that will never be filled. Everything waiting for the deleted match therefore goes with it. The confirmation names those matches, e.g. Delete match W5? W7 will go too, because it waits for this result. This applies across brackets as well: a consolation bracket fed by the losers of this bracket loses those matches too.
To keep only the first round of a bracket, delete the second-round matches — the final and the rest of the chain follow automatically. If such a match was already on a field, that slot frees up again on the Schedule tab. Deleted matches do not come back by themselves; the ↻ at the top of the bracket rebuilds the whole series.
Below the knockout cards, the Indeling (layout) tab shows a Bracket preview — exactly as visitors see it on the live page: the classic bracket with lines connecting every match to the next round. The third-place match appears below the final.
Click the 🥉 button on the knockout card to generate a consolation final (3rd/4th place) from the losers of the semi-finals. Other placement matches are created via free matches (the + Free match button at the top of the Indeling tab) — see the article Placement matches.
That is up to you. Click 🏆 Add knockout and specify in the dialog whether the Top 1, Top 2, Top 3 or Top 4 of each group qualifies. The bracket is then built automatically.
The best-placed teams get a bye in the first round. So the bracket also works with 6, 11 or 13 teams; you do not have to work anything out yourself.
No. Everything you generate for the final stage is scheduled straight away, directly after whatever is already planned. If you want a match somewhere else, drag its card on the Schedule tab. One exception: if you have not created any pitches yet, the matches wait in the Unscheduled strip until a pitch exists.
Yes. Under every first-round match there is a dropdown per team listing all group positions. Pick the position you want directly. If it is already used elsewhere it appears greyed out with the bracket name next to it; choose it anyway and the two slots swap, after a confirmation that states exactly what ends up where.
